Owens almost an Eagle

(Philadelphia, PA) Though we doubted Andy Reid and company for going after a defensive lineman rather than a wideout, turns out we got egg on our face. The Eagles were courting Terrel Ownes afterall, even with James Thrash being included in the trade, but the 49ers pulled a quick one and threw TO to the Ravens. Terrel Owens and his agent are upset and filing a grievance with the NFL. Seems to me if TO's agent would have filed the papers on time this wouldn't have happend. Said Owens, "We were a matter of minutes away from getting something done and that's when the 49ers and (GM Terry) Donahue got wind of that and sent me to Baltimore."

Eagles land Kearse

The Eagles, desperate to improve their chances as sacking the opposing teams quarterback, have made a "freakish" move tonite. If you're going to make a splash on the first day of NFL trading, gee, why not offer $66 million to a guy who has played in only 18 of 32 games the past few seaons? Sure, Jevon Kearse had 9.5 sacks last season with the Titans, two more than last years Eagles DL combined, but if memory serves me correctly didn't we need some guys to catch the ball in last seasons NFC Championship game?

Soul Edged by Defending AFL Champ Storm

Soul (Tampa Bay, FL) - 16,844 watched the Tampa Bay Storm edge the Philadelphia Soul 40-37. Quarterback Nick Browder completed 17-32 for 232 yards and four touchdowns. Former Eagles wideout Freddie Solomon scored two rushing touchdowns for Tampa Bay, including a one yard run for the first score of the game. The Soul's Tyrone Jones scored twice, including a 41 yard missed field goal return. Jones' second touch down made the score 40-37. And after a second missed field goal by Tampa Bay, Philadelphia had a chance to win the game. But with twenty second left, Nick Browder fumbled the ball, Tampa Bay fell on it, and that's how the game would end. The Soul fell to 1-3 on the season and host the undefeated Chicago Rush next week at the Wachovia Center. That game will be aired nationally on NBC.

Soul Rework Ulufale Deal

Soul (Philadelphia) - The Soul announced today that AllArena lineman Mike Ulufale has been returned to Los Angeles due to injury. The deal announced here two days ago which involved kicker Mike Gowins going to Las Vegas, and LV wide reciever/line backer Jeriod Johnson going to Los Angeles to bring Ulufale to Philadelphia has been reworked. The Avengers will send lineman La'Zerius White and 'future considerations' to Philadelphia holding Ulufale until he heals from an unreported injury. When Ulufale recovers, he will come to Philly, completing the trade. La'Zerius White is known for his strong pass blocking abilities, and could see action against the league's best pass rushing team and defending AFL champion Tampa Bay Storm.

TO to Eagles? Not Without a Trade.

Terrell Owen's agent missed a deadline which was pushed up by the NFL meaning that TO may not be a free agent this off season. Owens, the 49ers, Eagles fans, and pretty much the entire NFL world assumed he would take an opt-out to void the last three years of his contract with San Francisco. The league changed the filing deadline, moving it up ten days, and Owen's agent missed the deadline. David Joseph, Owen's agent, is expected to contest the ruling. If the decision is not overturned, Owen's remains a 49er and the Eagles would have to propose a trade to bring the four time ProBowler into town.
